It is amazing how much nature in all its freedom can help us live or have better lifestyles but remains one of the most challenging things to enjoy. Human beings are created to connect with nature and natural elements. Modern days lifestyles make it easier to get access to all the sunshine, and transportation means there is always a summer season reachable somewhere on the planet.
We have access to parks and recreation for free exercise without spending Monday. There is more and more access to organic food, or if one is blessed with a backyard and time, you can plant your vegetables and other produce.
Modern days also provided more access to clean water and fresh air more than ever before.
At the same time, modern-day lifestyle makes it hard to enjoy all of them. Many are busy with careers and families, lack money, or have the need for instant gratification. All of these can be a hindrance. This Wellness lifestyle is needed more than ever to save our younger generation and the planet from a toxic lifestyle.
Wellness lifestyle is on top of my watch list this year. Realizing that I can do something for my body, my mind, and soul in order to increase vitality and be also get others to inspire along the journey, it is a dream worth fighting for.
I had a wellness plan for this past summer, and although I was not able to accomplish everything, there had to be a shift in lifestyle. My husband and I went for walks almost every day in the evenings around our neighborhood, parks, trail parks, by the lakes. We also drove to nearby towns and parked our car just explore the towns more often than not.
I enjoyed walking so much that every day I looked forward to it. It kept me joyous throughout the day. Walking around a park or nature in itself is like a dopamine release. No matter what state of mind you were before going for a walk, you always come back in a much better mood.
That is why I love this definition of Wellness – Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. Wellness is more than being free from illness, and it is a dynamic process of change and growth. UCDavis
Eating healthy was also part of my Wellness plan. Throughout the summer, even though we went out a lot, we seldom went out to eat. I enjoy cooking and cooking for myself, and my family gives me the ability to control what we do and do not eat. I am able to select and know all of the ingredients and spices in our food, which is hard to do when you eat in a restaurant or have fast food.

It is necessary to pay attention to what nourishes our body, soul, and my mind in order to enjoy this beautiful world and contribute to reaching our fullest potential. It is a step by step process. Not big or giant steps, it’s a lot of little steps in the right direction that bring you to the destination.
Sometimes, I reflect on my goals, and whenever I am tempted to doubt my process, I will remind myself, ‘it is the little steps that matter most’. As long as I keep taking them then there is hope of improvement. Even though progress may be invisible, if we keep pushing bit by bit without getting distracted or discouraged, we will achieve our dreams (even if it is not in our preferred time).
Before, I barely drink enough water, and living in cold weather makes it easier to skip drinking the required amount. Have a phone reminder to remind you to drink water if you are like me. For example, remind me to drink water at every one hour or two.
Exercise to have fun and be healthy, not just to lose weight. Sometimes people who have slimmer body frames like me may tend to refrain from exercising because they think they don’t need to — exercise is for all body types and everyone.
I have been a reading a devotion from the book James by Joyce Meyer. I studied it twice and was greatly blessed by it. I am studying the book of Ephesians by Joyce Meyer, and I meditate daily for at least 30 minutes most days. A balanced Spiritual life keeps us well-grounded when things are shaky. It is inevitable that life will not always go smoothly as plan. Life is just always full of unexpected surprises.

Wellness is all about keeping a balanced life for the benefit of your wellbeing. Let’s hop on the train to a wellness lifestyle. Let’s get motivated, inspire others, and together build a strong empowering lifestyle through the approach of wellness.
