Art has been a method of storytelling since the beginning of mankind. I continue this
legacy by using my work to tell a variety of stories. Using different techniques and
materials, I experiment with the best way to tell a tale to the viewer, using collage, acrylic
paintings, and mixed media to accomplish these works. My process is to get a specific
story or image in mind and recreate it in the media I use. Picking the medium that I believe
will get the story across the best to the viewer, or would add something to the narrative.
While I do not think all artwork needs to have a narrative attached, I do want my
artwork to tell stories. Playing with either well-known stories or tales I create just for the
work itself. I want my artwork to inspire others, to be seen, and to let others be creative in
their reading of the artwork.
Using different materials for my works can help me get a specific idea across to my
audience. Each one has a different voice I can use to reveal diverse adventures and get the
themes across better. I believe that every work deserves a narrative to accompany it; the
work lives through every single viewer’s interpretation and created story.
